2026 SUMMER SCHEDULE: OPEN HOUSE- June 11 | June 11, 18, 25 | July 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 – NO CLASS 6/4 – 8-Week Session CLASS DESCRIPTION: Together you’ll sing, chant, move, dance, listen, and play simple instruments: all activities that bridge the natural connection between music and movement through the action-packed Musikgarten curriculums. Each lesson features movement activities for coordination, body awareness and control, exploration of space, and instruments such as rhythm sticks, jingles, rattles, drums, and resonator bars. “Music and movement play a powerful role in child development. Research shows that early music experiences can support language and literacy development, strengthen pattern recognition skills essential for mathematical thinking, and nurture social and emotional growth. Musikgarten’s carefully sequenced approach gives children a strong musical and developmental foundation that benefits them well beyond the early years.” http://musikgarten.org/ As a licensed Musikgarten teacher, Molly is required to have families purchase the Family Materials packet that comes with an instrument or scarf, 40+ tracks of great quality music, an accompanying parent book with songs, activities, and info about the function of each activity. These packets are an additional $45 in addition to the tuition, and they are a gift that keeps on giving since you’ll have your own copy of the music. The whole family can join in the fun as you create an environment for your family to explore music together! Please note the schedule for class times below: – Family Music for TODDLERS + MIXED AGES (1-5 years) Thurs. 11 – 11:30am – POSTPONED until 8/13: Family Music for BABIES- Thurs. 10:15 – 10:45am* – POSTPONED until 8/13: Cycle of Seasons for Pre-K -1st Grade Thurs. 4:15 – 4:45pm* – POSTPONED until 8/13: Family Music for MIXED AGES 2-5- Thurs. 6:15 – 6:45pm* *minimum enrollment to run the class is 3 families **FALL 2026 MIXED AGES EVENING CLASS WILL MOVE TO 5:30-6pm Policies: – Tuition for the 8-13-week SESSION: $15/class for one child or $25/class for siblings (starting Fall 2025) – Tuition for Pop-In or Pay-By-The Class Families: $20/class or $30 for siblings – $45 materials fee (including the music, parent book, percussion instrument/ scarf or activity cards depending on age) – New Families can join anytime with prorated tuition offered for joining mid-session!! – Classes are held OUTDOORS on fair weather days between 55°-84°F on the bandstand lawn at Gypsy Hill Park (600 Churchville Ave, Staunton, Staunton, VA). – Classes are held INDOORS during Winter Session, in the case of inclement weather, and temperatures below 55° and above 84°F, at Queen City Music Studios (16 W Beverley St, Staunton VA). – Families may register for “pop-ins” if they are not able to commit to the whole session.
