Princess Imogen and the Enchanted Bears

The evening starts with a retelling of Cymbeline in which Emmet Temple, Kelsey Rich, Sam Acosta, and Sarah Clayton adapt Shakespeare’s little-known romance into a twenty-five-minute tale for elementary-age audiences. The story follows the journey of the princess Imogen after the loss of her mother. Struggling to come to terms with her new reality and the scope of her feelings, Imogen travels into the woods near her home. The woods are as unfamiliar to her as life without her mother, but the forest’s denizens include friendly forces who can help her on her way forward. The production focuses on helping young viewers build emotional skills to manage big feelings, process grief, and develop resilience.

This production will be followed by a 60-minute The Two Gentlemen of Verona, aimed at middle and high school audiences. The double-feature runs September 28 and 29, with the first showing from 6:00-6:30 pm and the second from 7:30-8:30 pm.
