A night with Supreme Court Expert Timothy Keefer

He will in particular speak on the legitimacy of the Supreme Court addressing questions such as:

Is the Supreme Court politicized?
What defines the legitimacy of the Supreme Court?
Is there confidence in Supreme Court decisions?
If confidence in our courts and the rule of law is lost, what will it take to restore it?

Prof. Keefer is an attorney who has taught National Security Law at the Washington and Lee University School of Law and Public Policy at Pepperdine University and has provided direct legal and policy advice to three Cabinet Secretaries, over 20 federal judges, and many senior government officials on major constitutional, statutory, policy, and ethical issues. He has met a number of current and former U.S. Supreme Court Justices. He has had pivotal roles in major national events, including providing significant advice on responses to the 2013 disclosures of NSA programs; development and implementation of governmental policies in response to 9/11; and, key legal counsel in the 2000 Presidential election dispute of Bush v. Gore.
