African-American Heritage & Multicultural Festival

This event is no longer available.

The African-American Heritage Festival has been on hiatus since the COVID-19 pandemic began, but we’re excited to bring it back with a new name and even more cultural celebrations!

The new African-American Heritage & Multicultural Festival will be held September 16-17, 2023, at Gypsy Hill Park. The revived festival will feature vendors, food trucks, storytellers, musicians, entertainers, and activities that showcase the diverse cultures found in our region.

This annual celebration of black culture and history is the oldest of its kind in the Shenandoah Valley. After 31 years, the festival has expanded to add multicultural celebrations in partnership with Waynesboro, Staunton, and Augusta County schools to share stories, traditions, music, and customs from students and families of diverse backgrounds.
