Ereshkigal’s Sister: Opening Reception for Featured Artist Lisa Gaidanowicz
Featured Artist: Lisa Gaidanowicz Exhibition Title: Ereshkigal’s Sister This April, Lisa Gaidanowicz drags us to the Underworld and we find it…homey?! In Ereshkigal’s Sister, the vast, mythic depths of the Underworld are reimagined as an intimate, domestic space. Lisa’s latest collection of mixed-media miniature assemblages – meticulous representations made of clay, resin, paper, and found objects – Gaidanowicz invites us to look closer at the “ordinary” and discover the sacred and surreal treasures hidden within the corners of everyday life. Opening Reception Join us to meet the artist, explore the tiny details of her work, and celebrate the Staunton creative community. Date: Saturday, April 4 Time: 2 PM – 4 PM Location: Art Hive | 835 Spring Hill Rd | Staunton Show runs through the end of April About the Work Lisa Gaidanowicz’s assemblages are meditations on belonging and divinity. By utilizing discarded found objects and transforming them into intricate scenes, she bridges the gap between the ancient goddess and the modern home. The collection brings up a compelling question: What if the Underworld isn’t a place of exile, but a place of sanctuary? About the Artist A dedicated community builder who has truly found her home in Staunton, Lisa Gaidanowicz brings a unique, intentional energy to everything she touches. Whether she is working in miniature or collage, her art reflects the same care she pours into the city she loves. Her work is a testament to the power of seeing – and creating – beauty in the smallest details. “The sacred isn’t always in the heavens; sometimes, it’s tucked away in a drawer or resting in the palm of your hand.”
