Live Folk Music with Mike Gangloff, Ethan WL, and Isabel March
This event is no longer available.
Mike Gangloff is a fiddler and multi-instrumentalist from Ironto, VA who journeys back and forth between traditional and avant-garde music, seeking unity — and beauty — in archaic tunes and long drones, in melodies wrapped in freeform scree. He is a founder of bands that include veteran improvisers Pelt, old-time rowdies Black Twig Pickers, and most recently, the cosmic Appalachian quartet Eight Point Star.
Ethan WL is a musician and filmmaker from Gloucester, MA. His solo repertoire is in the American Primitive Guitar style, made popular by past players such as John Fahey, Robbie Basho, and Jack Rose. His sound takes inspiration from many different types of music such as old time, country blues, Indian Classical, drone, noise, and minimalism.
Isabel March is a jazz and folk inspired singer-songwriter from Staunton, VA. Last year she released her debut EP “Time, among other things.”
