New Play Tuesday Triple Feature

SolArt Center and NU Theatre Present: New Play Tuesdays!

Welcome to the first in our upcoming series of new play readings, highlighting new work from the Virginia area, with playwrights in attendance!

Our first group of readings consist of three short plays, all written by Staunton playwrights!
First is Madeleine Buttitta’s I’m Afraid You Don’t Understand Me. A grad student interrogates the head of their program about accessibility.

Second, Justin Guidroz’s Rafters. Two balls stuck in the rafters of a middle school gymnasium wonder if life is worth it.

Finishing out the night is Cassy Whitacre’s Supermom. Brooke seems like one of those do-it-all moms who has her life together, but the pressures of work, home, and family life are taking their toll. One magical night in a hotel gives her a taste of freedom, and Brooke finds joy in a new, secret life.
Doors open at 6:30 PM. First script starts reading at 7:00 PM. After the readings, there will be a talkback and Q+A with the playwrights.

This event will take place at SolArt Center at 6 Byers Street, Staunton, Virginia.

Seating is limited! Entry is donation based.
