Night Teacher is the project of lead singer-songwriter Lilly Bechtel, whose haunting voice and poetic lyrics weave elements of doom-folk and alt-rock to create an experience that listeners have described as part séance, part lullaby. Since the 2020 release of her debut record Night Teacher, Bechtel has been featured on NPR, won Best Song in the Experimental Film and Music Video festival and was noted by the music magazine Relix as an “artist to pay attention to.” In February 2023 Bechtel released an EP, Dear Ellen, and she is currently working on her second full-length album, to be released in October 2025.
