Staunton Reading Society: Books that make you forget you’re in Virginia

Join us at Staunton Books & Tea for the next Staunton Reading Society, a conversation-based book gathering built around one of summer’s best pleasures: going somewhere without leaving your chair. Instead of reading the same book, each participant brings one book they have already read and loved that transported them somewhere else. Through short introductions and shared reflection, we will discover a wide range of titles, places, and voices across genres. Come ready to listen, share, and leave with a long reading list and a few new places to visit on the page. What to bring: One book you have already read Any genre welcome Curiosity and generous listening Space is limited to 15 to keep the conversation intimate. Please note that as part of your ticket purchase, we ask that you indicate which book you will bring so we can ensure copies are available at the store that night. You can change your book selection by June 3, 2026. If you are still deciding, you may update your selection by that date.
