Three Notch’d Road Baroque Presents “Sacred Harp: English, Irish & American Christmas”

For Christmas, Three Notch’d Road returns to its specialty: early American hymnody and its roots in the Old World in a program featuring soprano Sheila Dietrich, lutenist Cameron Welke, and founding member Anne Timberlake (recorders). The program will interweave music of the British Isles and America to celebrate the season, with works from “The Sacred Harp” (1844), an American shape note masterpiece with roots in early English rural church music.
