Virginia’s Presidents: A History & Guide — Talk and Book Signing

This event is no longer available.

In celebration of Thomas Jefferson’s 280th birthday, join local author and historian Heather S. Cole for a talk about the Virginia-born presidents and the sites that shaped their lives.

More U.S. presidents were born in Virginia than in any other state in the Union. In celebration of Thomas Jefferson’s 280th birthday, join local author and historian Heather S. Cole for a talk about the Virginia-born presidents and the sites that shaped their lives. We will travel the state–from Staunton to Charles City and Wytheville to Winchester–to (virtually) visit the homes and historic sites that shaped the lives of eight U.S. presidents. Learn a bit about the presidents, take a peek inside their homes and plan your next history road trip.

Heather S. Cole is a Staunton resident and the author of a new book about the lives and homes of the eight Virginia-born presidents: Virginia’s Presidents: A History and Guide (The History Press, 2023).
