New Faces and Places in Staunton

Are you ready for a new adventure this weekend? Why not check out some of Staunton’s cool new businesses? We have opportunities to stay, shop, sip, and eat. It’s time to celebrate small businesses and the Staunton community by exploring Staunton’s newest spaces.

Historic Inn at Oakdene / 605 E Beverley St.

Before it opened as a boutique inn, the Historic Inn at Oakdene earned a spot on the National Register of Historic Places and was a popular stop of the Staunton Garden Tour, featuring a garden designed by A. A. Farnham in 1934. Constructed between 1898 and 1902 for Virginia’s lieutenant governor, the Queen Anne mansion was built for entertaining and has a grand foyer and sweeping staircase, big rooms and porches, and cool elements including a turret topped by an owl finial with glowing eyes. Steps from downtown, the recently restored inn has eight luxury suites that are “the perfect marriage of pristinely maintained architectural design and tasteful upgrades for modern living.”Staunton community by exploring Staunton’s newest spaces.

Collin’s Market / 29 W. Beverley St.

Collin’s Market is another recent addition to Staunton. It serves as a market, sandwich stop, and as a “a hub for locals, visitors, and small businesses to connect.”  The market works with local producers to stock the shelves with fresh goodness. You can get baked goods and Crucible coffee, deli salads and sandwiches, and snacks and household items. The market is open seven days a week until 9 pm.

Brin’s Posy / 110 Baldwin St.

Brin’s Posy has been creating beautiful and elegant floral arrangements for years, but the shop recently moved to a new location. Brin’s specializes in artful and unique centerpieces and bridal bouquets. However, you don’t need a special occasion to enjoy flowers when you sign up for a Brin’s subscription. You’ll get a weekly delivery to brighten your home or office.

Pizza Luca / 213A N. Lewis St

Recently opened Pizza Luca is another restaurant venture by Culinary institute-trained chef Justin Hersey, who owns Chicano Boy. Just steps away from Chicano Boy, the new restaurant delivers a very different vibe and cuisine. The lovely space is light-filled and high-ceilinged, and there’s outdoor seating as well near a beautiful mural. Pizza Luca specializes in pasta dishes and brick-fired pizza with gourmet toppings like caramelized onion, fennel sausage, kale, hot honey, and eggplant. The menu includes several wines and craft beers and you can finish your meal with cannoli or tiramisu.

The tasting room is dog-friendly inside and out.

Charlotte’s Kitchenette / 101 State St.

Charlotte’s Kitchenette claims to serve “the BEST food in Staunton,” and while that may be an exaggeration, the small menu looks promising!
